Commissions
Our approach is extremely personal, and concentrates on ensuring that you get exactly what you want, within your budget. There are several stages in our process, almost all of which you can be involved in:

1. Initial consultation
This is a no obligation session, which allows you to discuss all your ideas, and to brainstorm a number of options. We will discuss your likes and dislikes, the types of stones which are of interest to you, the size, colour, quality and style of cut etc. It is at this stage that we will begin to consider a range of design possibilities.
We feel strongly that clients have as much flexibility with their jewellery as possible, thereby enabling them to maximise its use. Where possible, we endeavour to create multi-use jewellery. Examples of this include detachable pendants which can also be worn as a brooch, or earrings with detachable accessories.
We will also discuss your budget in the preliminary stages to ensure that your ideas are achievable.
2. Stone selection
Once the design has reached a more precise stage, several different stones will be sourced for review. Together, we will examine the stones and decide which ones are most suitable.
Given our access to a vast range of diamonds and coloured stones, it is usually possible to source stones to your exact requirements. However, in the unlikely event that a specific gem is not available, it may be possible to cut one from rough material- a process which we have done in the past.
3. Production
Our craftsmen work in 18 carat white, yellow and rose gold as well as platinum. They are given detailed sketches and narratives for each piece, and make everything by hand. The quality of finish of every piece is exemplary and the attention to detail is meticulous.
4. Personalisation
It is possible to complete your piece with that final personal touch, and have it hand engraved by London’s finest engravers.
All pieces are presented in a hand crafted, fair trade leather box.
Other services
We can give detailed advice on buying diamonds, and sell loose diamonds and coloured stones upon request.
We also offer a remodelling service, where old pieces of jewellery are given a new lease of life with a more contemporary setting of your choice.
Our Ethical Policies
A “conflict diamond” is a diamond mined in a war zone, and sold to finance illegal activities against legitimate governments.
Since it’s inception, Carob & Co has only ever sourced conflict free diamonds. i.e. all diamonds are purchased from legitimate suppliers who provide a system of warranties confirming that the diamonds have been sourced in accordance with the Kimberley Process.
If you have any queries, please don’t hesitate to contact us, or refer to www.kimberleyprocess.com for more information.
In addition, our presentation boxes are fair trade, hand made leather boxes.
